Person-Centred Counselling

My Approach

At the heart of my counselling practice is a Person-centred approach, meaning that the sessions are led by you, the client, as the expert in your own narrative. I will offer you empathy and congruence in a safe, calm and non-judgemental space. Our work will enable you to feel more at ease navigating your way through some of the challenges that life can bring and helping you make sense of your thoughts and feelings.

If you wish, we may also explore some techniques using art, poetry,

mindfulness and nature to accompany us on the

journey of understanding and acceptance.

About Me

I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and have a 20 year plus background in education, teaching at primary level. I have completed the level 5 Diploma for Person-centred Counselling and have volunteered with several counselling charities working with clients with a wide range of needs including trauma, grief, domestic abuse, alcohol and drug abuse, eating disorders and self-harm.

I presently teach a Level 2 Counselling skills course as an Associate Lecturer for Cornwall College. I work with adults on a one-to-one basis either face-to-face or on the telephone/online. Options for walk and talk in the local area are also available.

A Welcoming Space

Relaxing & Comfortable

My space - located at The Bird House - is all about comfort and calm. It's a cozy, inviting room where you can relax and just be yourself. It's warm, welcoming, and feels like a genuine safe haven. It's the ideal place for our sessions, encouraging a heart-to-heart connection in a secure place.
